Coverage before volume

The right companies. Clear address types.

A company selection may include missing email details and different types of email addresses. You see the number of deliverable companies before purchase. Technical checks start with the first download; the number of addresses that pass will vary.

01

Generic business address

A shared address, such as post@eksempel.invalid. We need to clarify that the address does not in fact belong to a specific person.

02

Named person's business email

An address associated with a named person. A technically valid address is not evidence that the person has consented to marketing.

03

Unknown or missing address

Missing addresses are not delivered contacts. Uncertain addresses must be marked and handled according to the check level and selection we agree on.

From audience to delivery

Choose first. Clarify before you order.

  1. 01 · AUDIENCE

    Choose the companies.

Use industries, areas, and other criteria. In the builder, you can also describe needs that require a closer review.

  2. 02 · SUMMARY

    See the basis.

See database matches as you make your selections. In the summary, review the selection and the information you want before entering contact details.

  3. 03 · CLARIFICATION

See the price and choose a delivery option.

Email is selected as a delivery preference when you start with “Build your email list.” You can change your preferences in the summary. Other requests can be described in a note. Technical email checks apply to the email fields in the delivery. Qualified extracts can be purchased by card and downloaded as CSV. Other formats and manual clarifications are quoted separately.

Some selections require manual review. A company estimate is not the number of phone numbers, email addresses, or leads interested in buying.

Quality-checked for your delivery

You order the list. We check the email addresses.

Checks begin with the first download. Follow actual progress on the receipt page and learn about the seven steps along the way. You can download the base list right away and return when the check file is ready.

See the seven verification steps
  1. 01 · CHECK PROCESS

    Your list is prepared

We collect unique addresses for checking. All agreed company rows are retained, including when multiple companies share an address.

  2. 02 · CHECK PROCESS

    Address format

The address is checked for formatting errors. The registered address in the base list is not changed.

  3. 03 · CHECK PROCESS

    Domain and email server

DNS and MX lookups check whether a domain has a technical mail-receiving setup.

  4. 04 · CHECK PROCESS

    Address type

Temporary addresses are identified. Known shared addresses are classified as “Generic email: Yes.” Unclear cases are labeled “No.”

  5. 05 · CHECK PROCESS

    Reply from the mailbox

A technical SMTP request can check whether the recipient is accepted. No email is sent. A catch-all setup may produce an uncertain result.

  6. 06 · CHECK PROCESS

    Additional attempts as needed

Temporary rejections may be checked again. Some addresses take longer or remain unresolved.

  7. 07 · CHECK PROCESS

    Your delivery is quality-checked

Results are matched to the right company. Row count and file contents are checked, with Norwegian status labels and check timestamps.

A better basis for fewer returns: exclude invalid addresses and review uncertain results before mailing. You receive all the companies you purchased; the number of addresses that pass the check varies.

This describes Markedsdata's overall process. Checks are used where relevant, and not every address goes through every step. Technical verification does not guarantee delivery or permission to market.

Build your email list

Contents and quality

What you get in the email list

File contents: company, organization number, and available email address. The check file includes Generic email (Yes/No), Email quality, Verification result, and check timestamp.

Technical email checks are included with direct purchases of the email product. They examine, among other things, address format, the domain's mail-receiving setup, and signals from the mailbox, with additional attempts as needed. The base list retains all purchased company rows. The check file helps distinguish addresses that pass, are uncertain, or are invalid.

Passed the check
The address passed the agreed technical check at the time of checking. This does not guarantee delivery to the inbox.
Uncertain or unknown
A check may not be able to confirm the address, for example because of limited server responses or a domain that accepts all addresses (catch-all). The address remains in the file and is marked as uncertain so you can filter it out.
Invalid
The address fails the agreed check. It is separated from the usable selection; the handling is described in the delivery.

Checks and use

A technical check is not consent.

Marketing to a specific person's email address generally requires prior consent, including at work. Generic business addresses must be assessed based on who actually owns the address.

As the sender, you must assess the address type, legal basis for processing, and rules for the mailing. Buying an email list or technically checking an address does not in itself give permission to send marketing.

Practical details to clarify

Questions about email lists

Feel free to start with the audience. We will clarify delivery details before you order.

Is verification included in the price?

Yes. When email addresses are included in a direct purchase, technical checks are included. They start with the first download. The base list is available while checks continue. Manual deliveries are clarified in the quote.

What fields can the email list include?

Company name, organization number, industry, and geography can be combined with available email addresses, address type, and agreed check fields. The email product's check file includes Norwegian status labels, check timestamp, and “Generic email: Yes/No.” The classification is an aid and may contain errors.

Can the list be delivered in Excel or CSV?

Yes. The field setup and format are agreed, including if the file will be imported into a CRM. The list is delivered as a file. Automatic integration and sending the emails themselves are not included in the list delivery.

Do you offer email lists for individuals?

This service is for the business market. For other consumer-market needs, read about call lists and mailing lists, or contact us to clarify.

What affects how many addresses I receive?

Audience, address type, data sources, and check requirements affect coverage. Some businesses have no available address, and some addresses will be uncertain or invalid. Direct purchase shows the exact number of deliverable companies before payment. All those rows are retained, including when an address receives an uncertain or invalid check result.

A one-time extract or a more complex need?

Start with one extract with no subscription. If you need other fields, contact roles, or a custom import format, we will clarify the scope before you order.

DIRECT DISCUSSION

Which businesses do you want to reach by email?

Describe your audience, preferred address type, and approximate list size. We will clarify coverage and fields. Technical verification provides a better basis for assessment; it is not consent to marketing.

You do not need a complete specification. A couple of sentences about your audience is a good starting point.
